A believer in genre-crossing, I write nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and the occasional play. My work is characterized by a depth of feeling alongside a depth of intellect. Themes of interest include mental health, gender, queerness, and Jewishness.
I have published in all three genres in which I write. My personal essay “Blind Justice: On Law School, Misogyny, and Abuse,” appeared on the website The Toast and on Ms. Magazine online. My short fiction has been published in the UK and in North America. My poetry chapbook, Fallow, was shortlisted for qarrtsiluni magazine’s chapbook prize and is available in several libraries across Canada. Some of my early work is archived in New York University’s Fales Library Sheila Heti Riot Grrl Special Collection, and more current poetry is housed in the American Jewish Historical Society’s collections.
I’m also the grateful recipient of a number of writing fellowships, including a Brennglass Fellowship from the National Foundation for Jewish Culture, a shortlisting for the Lambda Writers Retreat for Emerging Voices, and funded writing residencies with the Vermont Studio Center and Mesa Refuge, where I was the inaugural Jennifer Egan Fellow. Recently, I was awarded a 2024 Research Award from the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute at Brandeis University to continue work on my poetry manuscript, “Mezuzot.”
Right now, I’m at work on a novel about teenagers facing the pitfalls of gifted education, a personal essay collection with topics ranging from Jewish conversion to fertility, and a nonfiction user’s guide to the mental health care system. I am seeking representation.
